Yandex explained the disappearance of Sakhalin after launching the DPRK rocket

Yandex.Maps did not display the island of Sakhalin due to the technical failure that occurred when updating the service. The error is fixed, soon the island will begin to display. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of Yandex.Cart.

“Today, at the next update, a technical failure occurred, due to which Sakhalin was not displayed on part of the scale. We have already corrected this, and soon Sakhalin will return to both the mobile and the web version of the service, ”said the representative of the Internet company.

The problem was noticed on Tuesday night about 2.00 Moscow time, about three hours after it became known that the DPRK missile flew over the northern part of Japan towards Sakhalin and exploded near the island of Hokkaido. The island disappeared with an increase in the map (scale of 1000 km, 600 km and 200 km), but displayed on the map at the maximum distance (3000 km). The failure was observed in the web version of the service in different browsers, as well as in mobile applications for iOS and Android.

The interlocutor of the agency noted that Yandex.Marts are updated almost every day - new roads, houses, squares and many other objects appear. There are more than 1 million of such updates every month, he said.
