The authorities of St. Petersburg again want to evict European University

The Kushelev-Bezborodko mansion in the center of St. Petersburg, occupied by the European University, is subject to liberation. According to Interfax, this was stated in the city committee of property relations on Tuesday.

“The decision of the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region of April 12, 2017, which entered into force, confirmed the legality of termination of the lease agreement in relation to the building concluded between the Committee of Property Relations and the Autonomous Non-Profit University in St. Petersburg. The building is subject to release, ”said the deputy chairman of the committee, Alexander German.

According to him, the issue of creating children in Smolny is currently being resolved in Smolny.

Earlier, the University of Europe reported that the university has a reserve building, but the move is not planned yet.

“The university has a reserve building that is now licensed under the educational process, but of course, this is not enough for the full work and development of the university. There are no other options, and no one still offered them to us, ”said the head of the apparatus of the rector Alla Samletova.

Recently, several trials have been associated with the European University. One of them concerned formal claims to compliance with educational legislation by Rosobrnadzor, the other - the building where the university is located - the Kushelev -Bezborodko Palace on Gagarinskaya Street.

The suspension of the license of the European University in St. Petersburg became known in December 2016. After some time, classes at the university resumed.

In July, the European University began designing a new license, since the old cancellation could not be appealed in court.
