Laureates of honorary "Oscars" are named

The American Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences announced the winners of the 90th season of the Oscar Honorary. They were the directors of Charles Bernett (USA) and Ans Varda (France), operator Owen Roizman (USA) and actor Donald Suserland (Canada).

The award ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on November 11.

Charles Bernett is known for films dedicated to the life of “Black America” such as “Killer of Sheep” (1977), “fall asleep in anger” ( To Sleep with Anger , 1990) and “Glass Shield” ( The Glass Shield, 1994).

Ans Varda is called the mother of the French new wave. Her debut work, Puent-Curt "( La Point-Courte , 1955) is considered a film that anticipated and inspired this direction.
