Volkova was detained in Nizhny Novgorod on Friday, September 29. He is suspected of repeated violation of the order of the mass event (part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

Earlier on the same day in Moscow, they detained Navalny himself. The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that he was detained for calls to participate in unauthorized shares. Navalny was taken to the police department for the trial. He is there for 8 hours.

Navalny and Volkov are facing fines from 150 to 300 thousand rubles or administrative arrest for up to 30 days.

On Friday in Nizhny Novgorod, Navalny’s rally was supposed to pass. However, in the morning it became known that the local police and fighters of the Russian Guard dismantled the scene and equipment installed on Markin Square for the promotion.

On September 26, Volkov wrote that the administration of Nizhny Novgorod first agreed on the rally, and then canceled its decision.
