Leonid Volkova was detained in Nizhny Novgorod

The police of Nizhny Novgorod detained Leonid Volkov, the head of the election headquarters of Alexei Navalny. As Volkov himself wrote on Twitter, he is suspected of repeated violation of the order of mass event (part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

Earlier in Moscow, Alexei Navalny was detained. The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that he was detained for calls to participate in unauthorized shares. Navalny was taken to the police department for the trial.

Navalny and Volkov are facing fines from 150 to 300 thousand rubles or administrative arrest for up to 30 days.

On Friday in Nizhny Novgorod, Navalny’s rally was supposed to pass. However, in the morning it became known that the local police and fighters of the Russian Guard dismantled the scene and equipment installed on Markin Square for the promotion.
