Zuhel's case goes to trial

In Moscow, the criminal case of Roman (Zukhel) Zheleznov, accused of participating in the Ukrainian Azov battalion as a mercenary, has been submitted to court.

IN At the beginning of October 2017, the investigation of the criminal the case of Roman (Zukhel) Zheleznov, who is charged in absentia under Part 3 of Art. 359 of the Criminal Code (participation of a mercenary in an armed conflict).

According to investigation, Roman Zheleznov arrived in Ukraine in the spring of 2014 and voluntarily joined the Ukrainian battalion "Azov". Novel Zheleznov underwent special training at the bases of the battalion, learned handle weapons, explosives, acquired the necessary knowledge about military strategy and tactics. From 2014 to 2016 Zheleznov hosted participation in hostilities in the south-east of Ukraine against the DPR and received financial compensation. His activities in the battalion he covered among Ukrainian nationalists.

Earlier, Zheleznov declined to comment on his participation in military operations and location on the territory of Ukraine.

In January 2015, Zheleznov was included in the list of 65 people whom the Russian Federation suspects of committing military crimes on the territory of Ukraine.

At the beginning of July 2017 on the Internet a video appeared where a certain Ukrainian nationalist hit Zheleznov in the face, but Zukhel did not fight, and asked him not to associate any actions with national socialist movement.

In Russia, Zukhel had two previous convictions. At the end of the summer of 2009, Zheleznov was convicted four years in a colony-settlement for attacking a person: in January In 2009, he shot a minor with a traumatic pistol Matthew Tal. November 4, 2012 and May 1, 2013 he led the column Wotanjugend at the "Russian March" and "Russian May Day". May 26, 2013 detained for attempting to steal 2 kg of meat (for a total of 2,300 rubles) in supermarket "Auchan", (according to other sources - "Metro"). November 29, 2013 Nikulinsky District Court of Moscow sentenced Zheleznov to ten months in prison.
