In Miass, a case was brought to court against an ex-lawyer for comments on the social network “My World”

Aidar Kuchukov is accused of inciting hatred towards Russians.

On October 16, 2017, in Miass, the investigation of the criminal case against 58-year-old former lawyer Aidar Kuchukov, accused under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting national hatred).

According to media reports, the accused is a former investigator of the Miass police department and a former lawyer, who was deprived of his status for significant violations of the interests of the client in a criminal case; he holds oppositional views.

According to the materials of the case, Kuchukov in 2016 on the social network "My World" " imposed provocative topics other than those discussed on the participants in the dialogue and posted messages based on ethnic hatred ", and also allowed himself offensive language against the Russians.

According to the prosecutor's office, Kuchukov left comments on the news of various media, in particular, he wrote " about the inevitability of the imminent defeat of the Russian Armed Forces in Syria, about the vulnerability of our weapons, about the anti-people regime of Vladimir Putin and the imminent growth of popular protest in order to change power ." In addition, in the comments on the news about the release of the Russian smartphone, " he began to talk about the illegal actions of the FSB in Crimea, the anti-people annexation of the peninsula and the deterioration of life in Russia because of this ." Note that such expression of opinion on political issues is not subject to Art. 282 of the Criminal Code.

The criminal case was sent to the Miass City Court for consideration on the merits.
