The Oktyabrsky District Court of Omsk fined a local resident 2,000 rubles.

In October 2017, it became known that on September 11, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Omsk fined history teacher Anton Zainulin 2,000 rubles under Part 1 of Art. 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (public display of Nazi symbols). The decision has entered into force.

Police officers found that Zainulin posted images with Hitler and Nazi symbols on his page on the VKontakte social network. It was about a picture with a Pokemon Pikachu with a swastika on his helmet and a caricature image of Hitler with a swastika on his sleeve, reminiscent of one of the works of the Kukryniksy. Zainulin explained to the court that he published the pictures about five years ago and did not have the goal of promoting Nazi ideology, but " perceived these images as works of pop art ."

Judging by Zainulin's page on the VKontakte social network, he really does not sympathize with Nazi ideology. We consider it unlawful to be persecuted for displaying Nazi symbols in cases where it is not about Nazi propaganda. Unfortunately, Russian law imposes a ban on any display of Nazi symbols, regardless of the context.
