On November 7, 2017, a court in Cheboksary fined Alena Blinova, a supporter of the Artpodgotovka movement, 200 thousand rubles for a picket near the Chapaev monument on October 29. The activist herself claims that she was not at the picket that day. On November 6, 2017, Elena Blinova was detained by employees of the Center for Countering Extremism.
Earlier, on April 13, 2017, Blinovawas fined one thousand rubles under Art. 20.29 Code of Administrative Offenses (distribution of extremist materials) for reposting Vitaly Milonov’s opinion on the persecution of Open Russia coordinator in Chuvashia Dmitry Semenov for distributing the prohibited slogan “Orthodoxy or Death” in the group “Art preparation bad news” on the social network “VKontakte”.
The “Artpodgotovka” movement was formed around Saratov blogger Vyacheslav Maltsev, who previously created a channel of the same name on the Youtube portal. In August 2017, Maltsev was charged in absentia under Part 1 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code (public calls for extremist activities), and he himself left Russia. In October 2017, the Artpodgotovka movement was declared extremist . Maltsev designated November 5, 2017 as the day of peaceful revolution. In connection with this action, there were mass arrests in the country.
