In the Moscow region, residents of Chernogolovka protest against the installation of a monument cross

Residents of Chernogolovka near Moscow are protesting against the installation of a memorial cross on a vacant lot in the city center. The cross is conceived as a memorial to the victims of the 20th century.

On November 9, 2017, it became known that residents of the Moscow Region Chernogolovka protest against the installation of a memorial cross in a wasteland downtown. It is planned to build a church in this place in honor of New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia (land for the construction of a church, however, has not yet been allocated to the community).

The cross is conceived as a memorial to the victims of the 20th century and will be built of steel and iron in the spirit of Soviet art (the author of the project is Artemy Rodionov). in niches cross will be placed stones from firing ranges - Butova, Solovkov, Ganina Yama, Levashovsky cemetery.

According to the local priest, the protests are mostly atheists, believing that "there is no place for crosses in the science city."
