Meduza published a letter from producer Ekaterina Voronova, who was put on the international wanted list in the case of Kirill Serebrennikov. Voronova claims that the ex-chief accountant Nina Maslyayeva, who previously testified against other defendants in the case of embezzlement of funds during the implementation of the Platform project, was engaged in financial fraud.
“By the nature of our activity, we bought many things for cash - for example, props; and employees received their salaries at the box office at Winzavod. I transferred part of the payment to a non-cash payment, but it is impossible to buy everything by bank transfer. All expenses, even for cash, were carefully documented. When there was a cash gap (for example, at the beginning of the year, because funding from the Ministry of Culture came in mid-February, and the salary had to be paid), it was filled by the general director (Itin) from his own funds - and then the money was returned to him by the chief accountant (Maslyaeva). Serebrennikov never received anything but salaries and fees. He was never interested in the financial part of our common work. He did not visit the office where the money was issued, ”Voronova writes.
She points out that after the Seventh Studio audit conducted in 2014, many violations were revealed. In particular, it turned out that the studio paid the accountant's daughter Maslyaeva. According to the documents, some people did the work, and others received the salary; some purchases were not reflected in the accounts.
“We wanted Maslyaeva to correct the mistakes she made, but she hardly helped and eventually quit. In 2014, when we were preparing to close the Platform, I decided that some of the internal documents - for example, on spending cash - could be destroyed, since no one would need them. The destroyed documents could now confirm my innocence and the innocence of other defendants in this case,” the letter says.
is accused of organizing the theft of budgetary funds allocated for the Platform project Director Kirill Serebrennikov , he is under house arrest . Together with him, the former general director of the Seventh Studio, Yuri Itin, its former chief accountant Nina Maslyaeva, the former general director of the Gogol Center and the general producer of the Seventh Studio, Alexei Malobrodsky, are involved in the case.
