Wealthy Russians, who in the New Year can threaten US sanctions, proposed to release special government bonds to return their funds to Russia, reports Reuters with reference to three sources.

Bonds nominated in foreign currency should provide profitability above banking rates. At the same time, bond holders will be able to maintain anonymity.

The authors of the initiative are not called. The Ministry of Finance refused comments, but two sources said they did not support this idea.

One of the sources said that the release of special bonds will speed up the process of returning the funds of rich people to Russia.
