Mikhail Saakashvili, some European deputies and numerous activists managed to speak.

How it all started

Maidan was preceded by the detention of Mikhail Saakashvili.

On the morning of December 5, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine conducted searches in the Kyiv apartment of Saakashvili. The searches were associated with a certain criminal proceeding, investigated by the Prosecutor General. Saakashvili climbed onto the roof of an eight -story building and threatened to jump down, "if they touch it."

“There is a serious personal conflict between Mikhail Saakashvili on the one hand and the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov on the other,”explains Viktor Mironenko, head of the Center for Ukrainian Studies of the Russian Institute of European RAS. “Therefore, I believe that if we distract from some theoretical reasoning about the fate of the fourth Ukrainian republic, then there are personal intra -political uniforms in Ukraine.”

EU reaction

Employees of the EU representative office in Ukraine monitor the situation around the ex-governor of the Odessa region, the leader of the Ukrainian “movement of new forces” by Mikhail Saakashvili and hopes that the investigation regarding the politician will comply with the norms of Ukrainian legislation.
