The case of Mark Halperin has been brought to court

The Nagatinsky District Court of Moscow will consider the case of one of the leaders of the New Opposition movement, accused of public calls for extremism.

December 22, 2017 case of activist Mark Galperin, accused under Part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code (public calls for extremism), was transferred to the Nagatinsky District Court of Moscow.

Recall that Galperin is one of the leaders of the 2016 movement "New Opposition", which includes representatives of various ideological movements, including nationalists (Ivan Beletsky, Denis Romanov, Andrei Petrovsky and others). Members of the New Opposition hold their own rallies, marches and pickets, took part in most major recent opposition events: from " Russian march " and " Russian pervomay ", before rallies against of the Law "On Renovation", actions against corruption initiated by Alexei Navalny etc.

The criminal case against Galperin was initiated in 2016, as part of February 7, 2017 this case at Galperin's house on search . Since June 2017, Galperin has been under house arrest.

On December 26, 2017, the Nagatinsky District Court of Moscow extended Halperin's house arrest for another six months.

The case was initiated on the fact of posting a video of an interview on the Internet. Galperin, recorded on Red Square, which was published on social networks blogger and journalist of the Gradus-TV video project Olga Sapronova. posted on the Internet a series of Galperin's interviews with the Gradus-TV project; we don't know which one is speech, but they are united by a cross-cutting, central for the "New Opposition" theme "democratic revolution" - a change of power as a result of peaceful mass protests. From our point of view, calls for extremist activity in these Halperin did not allow interviews.
