The Ministry of Emergencies checked the baptismal fonts

The tradition of plunging into the water on a bright festival of the baptism of the Lord was revived not so long ago.

Back in the beginning and mid-90s of the last century, the ceremony was not particularly popular and was used only among certain communities of believers. Over the past 20-30 years, more and more people join bathing in ice water.

This year, they approached the preparation thoroughly. The Ministry of Emergencies has checked all the official places where the ceremony will be held. In addition to the rescuers, there will be law enforcement officers on the spot near the font. In each place there will be a medical worker and field kitchen. Due to the stable warm weather in December, the ice did not stand on the rivers, the fonts were cutting out in standing reservoirs.
