
The Ministry of Internal Affairs in Ingushetia opened a criminal case on the deliberate destruction or damage of property after a fire in the office of the Memorial human rights organization in Nazran.
The sanction of this article provides for up to five years in prison.
Recall that the fire in the office of Memorial occurred on the night of January 17. No one was injured, but computers and furniture burned. Human rights activists announced arson. The head of the Nazran “memorial” Timur Akiev said that in his office they found a molten plastic bottle smelling of kerosene, and two people in masks climbing the roof of the building got into the video surveillance cameras.
The head of the Memorial Oleg Orlov connected the arson of the office with a criminal case against the head of the Chechen organization by Oyub Titiyev, who is under arrest in the case of drug storage.
