The priests of the Moscow Patriarchate on the Epiphany night plan to consecrate the waters of all four oceans of the planet, Interfax reports.

Thus, as the priests reported, they will follow the ancient Orthodox tradition to consecrate water not only in temples, but also in open reservoirs on the feast of the Epiphany.

The Arctic Ocean will be consecrated in the village of Tiksi, the northernmost settlement of Yakutia, on the shores of the Laptev Sea.

The community of the Russian parish in Reykjavik will reach the shore of the Atlantic Ocean, where the rector of the local parish, Priest Timofei, will consecrate water.

The Pacific Ocean will be consecrated on the shores of the Gulf of Siamese in Thailand, in the Novik Bay in Primorye and in the Bay of Hernner of the Magadan Region.

The Indian Ocean will be consecrated in the Persian Gulf, in the United Arab Emirates, where there is a community of the Russian Orthodox Church, headed by Archimandrite Alexander Zarkeshev.
