The author of the history textbook sent for examination because of the Crimea, asked Minister Vasiliev to stop "media manipulations"

Oleg Volobuev, the author of the textbook on the history of Russia, which caused indignation in the Federation Council, wrote a letter to the head of the Ministry of Education and Science Olga Vasilyeva with a request to stop “media manipulations”, since there is no “provocation” in the textbook. It is reported by Interfax.

“I can say with confidence that in the textbook“ History of Russia: the beginning of the 21st - beginning of the XXI century “there is not a single phrase of provocative in nature. The wording in relation to Ukrainian events, taken from the first edition of 2015 and presented in the public field as doubtful, was used in the original text exclusively as part of the established expression “Color Revolution,” said Volobuev’s appeal.

He emphasized that the textbook was not one examination, but "a general assessment of the events of 2014 in Ukraine is extremely negative in the textbook."

“Dear Olga Yuryevna! By the joint efforts of the public, the professional community, the Ministry of Education and Science, we must stop attempts to involve us in media manipulations, looking like artificial injection of public anxiety, ”the author of the textbook wrote.

Earlier, the Ministry of Education and Science sent a textbook for the tenth grade “History of Russia: the beginning of the XX - beginning of the XXI century” publishing house “Drof” to an additional examination. This happened after the criticism of the senators, in particular the speaker of the Sovfa Valentina Matvienko, who called the excerpt about the Crimea from the textbook “provocative”. The phrase, which caused her displeasure, sounded as follows: “So, the revolution that began in Kyiv became the phenomenon of international politics and spilled the Crimean Peninsula in the other direction.”

The senator from Crimea Sergei Tsekov also did not like the fact that the events on the Maidan in the textbook are called a revolution. “How can a bloody coup in Kyiv be called a revolution, as proposed in this textbook? I, as a participant in the reunification of Crimea with Russia, is perplexed, if not indignation, ”he said.

At the same time, the textbook, which caused the discontent of the Council, claims that the accession of Crimea was a response to an “anti -constitutional coup” in Kyiv. The Russian military on the peninsula "did not intervene in anything," and Russia "took on the preservation of peace" in the Crimea.
