The prosecutor's office of Chuvashia did not find grounds for a prosecutor's response to the situation with the transfer of the monument to fallen soldiers in connection with the construction of a temple in the village of Ikkove. The authorities, however, promise not to touch the monument.
On January 19, 2018, it became known that the prosecutor's office of Chuvashia did not find grounds for a prosecutor's response to the situation with the transfer of the monument to fallen soldiers in connection with the construction of a temple in the village of Ikkove.
An appeal to the prosecutor's office was sent by the Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the village of Ikkovo Mikhail Moiseev. He, like many fellow villagers, was outraged by the construction of the temple on the old cemetery and the need not only to cut down apple trees, but also to move the monument to a new location.
After appealing to the prosecutor's office, local authorities promised "not to touch the monument." Nine apple trees, however, have been cut down, and the bones of the dead, including the clergy, will be dug up and transferred to another location.
