In the presidential election in Finland, the current president Sauli Ninisto won the first round. According to preliminary estimates. 64.4% of voters voted for him, Yle reports .

The second place was taken by the candidate from the Green Party Pecki Haavisto, for whom, according to preliminary data, 11.2%voted. In third place, candidate from the Right Finns of the Right Finns Laura Khukhtasaari with 6% of the vote.

The rest of the candidates - Tuula Haatayinen from the Social Democrats, Meria Kullenen from the Left Union and Niels Torvalds from the Swedish People's Party - scored from 1.2% to 3.5% of the vote.

Ninista was elected as a self -nominated person, last time he was advanced from the coalition party.
