Another criminal case has been filed against the head of the Sevastopol Workers' Union

The FSB accuses Valery Bolshakov of calling for separatism and extremist activities. It is not yet clear what the claims of the special services are based on.

On February 3, 2018, it became known that on January 25, 2018, the FSB for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol initiated in relation to the chairman of the Union of Workers of Sevastopol Valery Bolshakov, the case under part 2 articles 280.1 (public calls to violate the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation) and Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code (public calls for extremist activity).

What exactly is imputed to Bolshakov is still unknown, but it can be assumed that the reason for the accusation is calls for separatism were any statements on the social network about joining Crimea to Russia. We believe that the inhabitants of the peninsula, dissatisfied with the accession territory in which they live, to Russia, have the right to criticize this solution.

accusations in calls for extremist activity, as Bolshakov himself believes, can be based on his publications with quotations from the "classics of Marxism-Leninism". Is it so, isn't it clear, but it should be noted that in a country where for seventy years the state propagandized ideals of the revolution, it is impossible to forbid people of leftist beliefs to publicly discuss this topic. From our point of view, sanctions are appropriate only when it comes to calls for specific illegal actions.

Recall that earlier the Investigative Committee of the ICR for Sevastopol initiated a criminal case against Bolshakov case under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code, accusing him of manifestations of " intolerance towards the social group" Terek Cossacks " " and " humiliation dignity of a given social group . This accusation also seems doubtful to us.
