In Astrakhan, “volunteers” and television spoke out against Baptist initiativeists

Activists of the “volunteer” movement held a picket in Astrakhan against the initiative Baptists. Local issue of "Vesti" for this occasion released an "anti-sectarian" report.  

From the Astrakhan edition of the Vesti program dated February 5, 2018 year it became known that in Astrakhan there was a picket of an unnamed "Astrakhan volunteer movement” in front of the building of the community of initiative Baptists.

Activists held posters "Sect away!" "Beware of the sect!" (punctuation preserved - Ed.) One of the picket participants told reporters about his indignation at the fact that members of the community do not wear a cross.

As follows from the report, earlier in front of the Baptist building similar "youth" pickets were held.

The report, like most "anti-sectarian" materials, contains a lot of offensive language and baseless accusations against initiative Baptists. In particular, their refusal to serve in the army, state registration and participation in state elections of journalists interpreted as "non-recognition of laws".

In addition, from the plot it became known that before several community leaders were brought to administrative responsibility under Part 4 of Art. 5.26 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (implementation of missionary activities in violation of the requirements of the legislation on freedom of conscience, freedom of religion and religious associations).
