In Murmansk, brought to court for xenophobic publications on the social network VKontakte

In Murmansk, the case of a local resident was brought to court for xenophobic publications on the VKontakte social network.

In February 2018, the investigation was completed and the case of a resident of the city of Murmansk, accused under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting national hatred and enmity).

According to the investigation, in 2015 and 2016, the 30-year-old defendant posted in free access on his personal page on the VKontakte social network publications that, according to the expert, "contain linguistic and psychological signs of incitement of enmity, hatred (discord) in relation to a group of persons, allocated on the basis of and nationality ".

The criminal case with the indictment approved by the prosecutor was sent to the court for consideration on the merits.
