
At the Borispol airport, the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov was detained. This was announced by People's Deputy of Ukraine Mustafa Nayyem.
“Apparently, the mayor of Odessa was detained on suspicion of involvement in the so -called scheme "Kraiyan". In short - in September 2016, the Odessa City Council acquired from the private structure one of the buildings of the Kraiyan plant at a price of 185 million (hryvnia - IF). And at the beginning of the same year, the same building was bought at an auction organized by the liquidator of the state -owned enterprise for 11.5 million hryvnias. The pure “Navar” of the corruption scheme is about 170 million UAH, ”wrote Nayem.
The PPRESS Service of the Odessa City Council informed Interfax that Trukhanov interrupted the working visit to the Czech Republic and flew to Kiev to participate in investigative events. “Later, Gennady Trukhanov will necessarily comment on this situation,” the press service of the City Council added.
On February 13, the detectives of the National Anti -Corruption Bureau of Ukraine notified Trukhanov that he was suspected of committing a crime under Part 5 of Article 191 (appropriation, embezzlement of property or mastering him by abuse of official position) of the country's criminal code. In addition to Trukhanov, NABU is suspected by the vice-mayor of Odessa Pavel Vogelman, chairman of the permanent commission on communal property of the Odessa City Council Vasily Shkryabay and the director of the Communal Property Department of the City Council Alexei Spectrum.
