The Russian Foreign Ministry invited the ambassadors of all foreign countries to discuss the case of the former GRU Colonel Sergei Skripal, the former GRU colonel in the UK, TASS reports with reference to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharov.
“On March 21, all the ambassadors of foreign states accredited in Russia were invited to a meeting with the leadership and experts of the Department for non -proliferation and control over weapons. The main theme of the meeting is the situation around Britain’s statements about the use of poisonous substances on its territory, ”said Zakharova.
At the meeting, Russia wants to “bring the Russian point of view to official representatives of foreign states,” answer their questions and ask their own. Zakharova emphasized that the main topic is that the UK does not provide any facts, "except for the accusations voiced in the boorish manner."
The day before, Vladimir Putin, speaking in his election headquarters after the elections, rejected the accusations of Russia's involvement in the poisoning of Skripal.
“This is nonsense, nonsense, nonsense, so that someone in Russia would allow himself such antics on the eve of the presidential election and the World Cup. It is simply unthinkable, ”Putin said.
According to the president, Russia does not have a substance that was poisoned by Skripal.
“If it were a fighting poisonous substance, people, of course, would have died on the spot, this is an obvious fact, we must understand this. Russia does not have such funds, we destroyed all our chemical weapons under the control of international observers, ”Putin said.
