In the boycott of the State Duma, due to the harassment of deputy Leonid Slutsky, dozens of media take part, but there are not a single state among them. What do their employees think? Before accusations of harassment, deputy Leonid Slutsky was not widely known. He came to the State Duma back in 1999 and is now considered the main Duma specialist in international contacts. The former TV presenter and deputy from United Russia, unlike many of her State Duma colleagues, spoke out in support of journalists who charged against Slutsky. Oksana Pushkin told the Medusa specialist Sasha Sulim about the attitude of most deputies to the problem of harassment and gender inequality:

When the word “gender” is heard in the Duma, many sweat begins to perform in many, transgender and gays begin to imagine - this level of understanding. Therefore, we decided to replace this word so as not to shock anyone. <...> Perhaps the law on sexual harassment will need to be prescribed separately. You need to talk about it. But with whom to talk about it? Have you seen the commission? About the same attitude to these people and to discrimination issues. They tell me that this is not a problem when we have poverty in our country.
