The court fined a resident of Tver for the song “Inkwell Girl” on the social network “VKontakte”

On April 2, 2018, the Zavolzhsky District Court of Tver fined Roman Sobolev for the song "Inkwell Girl" by the Kaffa group on the VKontakte social network.

On April 2, 2018, the Zavolzhsky District Court of Tver considered the case under Art. 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (dissemination of extremist materials) against Roman Sobolev.

According to the court, the young man posted in free access on the social network "VKontakte" on his personal page under the nickname "Unknown Citizen" with the audio file "Inkpot Girl" of the Kaffa group, which was recognized as extremist material on February 17, 2016 by the Rudnichny District Court of Kemerovo and included in the Federal List of Extremist Materials under item 3481. File was available until February 20, 2018. During the specified period of time, the audio file became available for viewing, copying and other mass distribution to an unlimited number of people.

The file was discovered by officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Tver region.

Sobolev fully admitted his guilt in committing an administrative offense, but added that he did not know that this audio recording was included in the list of prohibited materials. He deleted the audio recording and expressed remorse for what he had done. He lost his mobile phone, from which the song was added to his personal page, at the end of 2017.

The court took into account the nature of the offense, the circumstances of the case and Sobolev's personality. The court fined Sobolev 1,000 rubles.
