33 people ended up in hospitals in Yerevan after clashes between police and protesters against the nomination of former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan for the post of prime minister.
Seven people were delivered to the First Clinical City Hospital, eight people to the Erebuni Medical Center, and 18 people to the St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center, Interfax reports . Among the hospitalized are three policemen.
Nikol Pashinyan, head of the Yelk opposition faction, was injured after falling onto barbed wire.
Road blocking protests began in the center of Yerevan on Monday morning. People opposed the nomination of ex-president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan for the post of prime minister. On April 17, elections of a new prime minister of Armenia will be held in the country's parliament, in whose hands power will be concentrated in accordance with the country's transition to a parliamentary form of government.
