Clashes between government units of the National Guard and militants began in the Syrian city of Douma. There are dead and wounded, news agencies report.
The fighting began in the Er-Rahmani quarter, a TASS correspondent reports from the scene. Before the liberation of the city from the militants, their large arsenal was located there.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the city had been liberated from militants, and the military police of the Russian Federation began to work there. On April 16, experts from the OPCW, who arrived in Syria to conduct their own investigation into the alleged use of chemical weapons on April 7, are due to begin work in Douma.
