US senators requested information from the banks about the accounts of participants in the Kremlin List

Two Democratic senators requested information about the eight of the world's largest banks about accounts and assets related to the participants in the Kremlin List, published by the US authorities at the end of January. About this writes The Wall Street Journal.

Senators said they want to get information from banks about how the list participants use the international financial system in their interests.

At the same time, the provision of information in response to a request is voluntary for banks. However, senators are ready, if they do not receive an answer from banks, contact the Accounts Chamber (body controlled by Congress, which has the authority to conduct investigations).

According to the publication, banks have already begun studying the request.
