Alexei Navalny described the incident at the meeting: “There is no longer even need to have a mocking and vast decision, as it was according to Kirovles, where the verdict was canceled (formally fulfill the decision of the ECHR), sending the case for a new consideration, where the same sentence was sentenced. The new practice looks like this (literally). The court decided: to resume the proceedings, we will not fulfill it without changes. In court, even an awkward pause arose, everyone was waiting for something else.

“There is no court in Russia, and even the chances of influencing it through the higher body have been greatly reduced from today. This is the big news and a big step towards the new bottom, ”Navalny added.

Earlier, the representative of the Prosecutor General’s Office asked the Presidium of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation to leave the sentence in force. “I propose to leave subsequent court decisions,” the representative of the Prosecutor General’s Office turned to the court.

In his opinion, the guilt of the Navalny brothers is confirmed by the totality of evidence given in the verdict, and the court acted "in accordance with the procedural legislation and taking into account the opinion of the participants in the process."

Recall that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation again checks the legality of the sentence after the decision of the Strasbourg Court, who has been violating the rights of Navalny and his brother to a fair trial.

The Russian Ministry of Justice draws attention to the fact that the ECHR did not find the political background of criminal prosecution. For two, the brothers awarded compensation of 82 thousand euros. The Russian Ministry of Justice did not agree with the decision of Strasbourg and reported plans to appeal him. Alexey Navalny has two conditional criminal records: five years in the affairs of Kirovles and Yves Rocher. The opposition is categorically rejects all the accusations, considering his criminal prosecution politically motivated. The first case was connected with a waste of more than 16 million rubles, the second - with a predatory of more than 30 million rubles.
