Sajid Javid, who was previously in charge of local government in the government, has been appointed as the new British Home Secretary. He became the first head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - a representative of a national minority, he is a descendant of immigrants from Pakistan.
According to RBC , before working in the government, Javid managed to work at the Chase Manhattan bank in New York, and in 2004 he became the managing director of Deutsche Bank. He left there in 2009.
The decision to appoint Javid may partly be explained by the desire of Prime Minister Theresa May to send to the Ministry of Internal Affairs a person who had no previous connection with this department and cannot be involved in the scandal in which his predecessor Amber Rudd was involved. She resigned after it became known that she had set targets for migrants to be expelled from the country by the authorities.
