The Chelyabinsk Regional Court upheld the decision to arrest five Muslims suspected of collaborating with Hizb ut-Tahrir.
On May 10, 2018, the Chelyabinsk Regional Court left without changing the decision to arrest Vadim Khabirov, Rafis Khalilov, Ruslan Fatkullin, Danis Abdrakhmanov and Amir Karymov, arrested by order of the Central District Court of Chelyabinsk 16 April 2018 on suspicion of collaborating with Hizb ut-Tahrir.
Detentions and arrests were made in the framework of a criminal case, initiated under Part 2 of Art. 205.5 of the Criminal Code (participation in the activities of a terrorist organization).
Abdrakhmanov and Fatkullin were detained in Chelyabinsk on February 27, 2018 and then, as follows from the information on the website of the regional court, they were arrested; the same is known about Abdrakhmanov and Karymov. Vadim Khabirov was arrested on December 19, 2017.
Recall we believe that accusing members of Hizb ut-Tahrir of promoting terrorism only on the basis of party activities (holding meetings, reading literature, etc.) and prosecuting them under anti-terrorist articles illegally.
