Former Minister of Construction of the Russian Federation Mikhail Men can be appointed as the new presidential envoy to the Central Federal District.
writes about this Vedomosti , citing sources. Until recently, the post of plenipotentiary in the Central Federal District was occupied by the former Minister of Agriculture, ex-governor of the Voronezh Region Alexei Gordeev. In the new government, he received the post of Deputy Prime Minister in charge of agriculture. Before his appointment in November 2013 as the Minister of Construction and Housing and Utilities, Men worked as the Governor of the Ivanovo Region. Prior to his appointment as federal minister, Menya's career was always associated with the regions located in the Central Federal District: from 1999 to 2002 he was vice-governor of the Moscow region, and then, until 2005, deputy mayor of Moscow, Yuri Luzhkov.
My work in the regions of the Central Federal District could have been important when choosing him as a candidate for the post of plenipotentiary, says a Vedomosti source close to the Kremlin.
