The owner of O1 Group Boris Mints (according to Forbes, his fortune is $1.3 billion), his three sons and their families left Russia, reports Vedomosti , citing sources. One of the interlocutors of the publication explained the move as a "tense situation" with the business.
Details
- About the departure of Boris Mints, Vedomosti was told by two sources close to the Central Bank, a federal official and a person who received information from a familiar shareholder of O1 Group.
- Representatives of the O1 Group and its minority partner in O1 Properties - the East group - declined to provide comments to Vedomosti. The publication failed to contact the businessman himself and his sons.
- The main asset of Mints is one of the largest owners of Class A offices in Moscow, O1 Properties. It can be sold to the Cypriot Riverstretch Trading & Investments (RT&I). The publication learned about this from one of RT&I's creditors, two of its partners and a source close to the shareholders. The deal may not include two objects - the Aurora Business Park complex and Bolshevik.
- The sale of the company may be due to the fact that Mints failed to agree with banks on debt restructuring. A person close to one of the creditors of O1 Properties and a partner of the company believes that the share of Mints can be transferred to a new owner for debts.
