On May 29, 2018, police officers searched the apartment of Boris Zolotarevsky, head of Navalny's headquarters in Chelyabinsk. The search was conducted as part of an investigation into a criminal case of hooliganism (Part 2, Article 213 of the Criminal Code).
During the search, brochures of Jehovah's Witnesses (several dozen) and documents confirming membership in the community were found. Some texts are included in the Federal List of Extremist Materials, others are sent for examination.
We believe that the recognition of the texts of Jehovah's Witnesses as extremist is unlawful and we regard the bans on the religious literature of Jehovah's Witnesses, including the Bible, as manifestations of religious discrimination.
