The court sentenced a Kostroma resident to a suspended sentence for publishing songs on social networks aimed at inciting religious hatred.
On June 7, 2018, it became known about the guilty verdict handed down to a 31-year-old resident of the village of Krasnoe-on-Volga, Kostroma Region. He was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (actions aimed at inciting hatred or enmity, as well as humiliating the dignity of a person or group of persons based on their attitude to religion, committed publicly, using information and telecommunication networks, including the Internet).
According to the investigation and the court, from December 2016 to February 2018, he published audio materials on his page on one of the social networks aimed at inciting hostility towards people who did not profess his religion.
The court sentenced him to two years of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of one year.
