Following the results of public hearings, deputies of the Kirov Duma recommended that a monument be erected, which caused discontent among the inhabitants of the city, on territory of the monastery.
On June 18, 2018, public hearings were held in Kirov on the question of erecting a monument to Nicholas II and his family in the city. Considered seven options, the majority voted for the proposal to erect a monument on the territory of one of the city's temples.
Recall that the idea of installing a monument on the city embankment belongs to the Vyatka diocese. Many citizens considered the choice of site for the monument Orthodox saint unsuccessful, or did not see any reason to put such monument in Kirov.
On June 20, deputies of the City Duma, based on the results of the hearings, recommended to erect a monument on the territory of the Trifonov Monastery.
