The Russian WEX cryptocurrencies with a daily turnover of $ 20 million (the former BTC-E Exchange, closed by the FBI) is bought by the former militia Dmitry Khavchenko with the call sign of the sailor close to the ex-Prime Minister of the DPR. He plans to make a “powerful and Patriotei project” from the exchange. As the investigation of RBC has shown, Konstantin Malofeev may be behind the deal.
In April, Khavchenko concluded an agreement on the intent with the founder of the exchange Dmitry Vasiliev, according to which the parties previously agreed on the transaction for the sale of the WEX exchange.
According to RBC, earlier Vasiliev was looking for support for his project, realizing that without influential patrons he could not work in Russia, and was able to find it with the structures of the owner of the Tsargrad group, one of the creators of the safe Internet League Konstantin Malofeev.
Khavchenko said that he was carried away by cryptocurrencies before the war in the Donbass. In his opinion, blockchain technology makes it possible to transfer money to all unrecognized republics, bypassing sanctions dangers.
Khavchenko confirmed that he now has a “some influence” on the current work of the exchange, but it is not enough. Since the beginning of the year, the volume of trading has fallen from $ 100 million per day to $ 20 million. The sailor believes that this is due to the personality of the leader: Vasiliev, in his opinion, is a good startup, but a bad manager. After the purchase, he promises to make a “powerful and patriotic project” from the WEX.
Havchenko refused to name the preliminary amount of the transaction, the interlocutor surrounded by Vasiliev speaks of several million dollars. The former militia assures that he does not intend to take the money for the purchase of his own and neither from “Constantinople” or any other structure, moreover, he has no attitude to “Tsargrad”.
