Former court secretary Alexander Eyvazov was released from pre-trial detention center

On July 18, the Kalininsky District Court of St. Petersburg sentenced Eyvazov to a year and ten months in a colony-settlement. The court found him guilty of obstructing the administration of justice (part 3 of article 294 of the Criminal Code) and decided to set off the time spent by Eyvazov in the pre-trial detention center for two days of serving his sentence.

• Alexander Eyvazov is a 23-year-old former secretary of the Oktyabrsky District Court and a member of the United Russia party. According to investigators, he did not prepare and sign the minutes of the trial within the indicated timeframes because of his personal dislike for Judge Irina Kerro and the desire to cancel the verdict in the criminal case of attempted fraud.
• According to Eyvazov himself, he did not draw up the minutes of the court session, and therefore refused to sign it. The former secretary also noted that he was asked to sign the protocol retroactively.
• At the end of 2016, Alexander Eyvazov resigned from the Oktyabrsky District Court and sent about 80 messages to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Investigative Committee, the Supreme Court, the prosecutor's office and other authorities about massive violations in court. Among them, he pointed out the falsification of court records, "informal" relations between judges and prosecutors, humiliation and insults against the defendants.
• In February, Eyvazov's arrest was extended beyond the maximum detention period of six months for this category of cases. "Team 29" drew attention to the fact that in most cases for the commission of such crimes, the court imposes fines or suspended sentences.
• In May, Eyvazov's defense appealed to the chairman of the Supreme Court with a statement about numerous violations in the case.
• Eyvazov was also accused of slandering judge Irina Kerro (part 1 of article 298.1 of the Criminal Code). In early July, the court dismissed the case due to the lack of corpus delicti.
