The editors of the Russian Forbes asked the American Licensee not to approve the new editor -in -chief

The editors of the Russian Forbes called on the leadership of the American licensee not to make decisions as an appointment as the chief editor of the publication Andrei Zolotov, as well as intervene in the conflict between the journalistic team and the owner of the publication Alexander Fedotov, Interfax reports.

The collective letter was signed by 29 editorial staff. It was sent to the leadership of the American Forbes on July 30. “We ask you about the support in this very dramatic episode in the history of the Russian Forbes, and we hope that you will begin the investigation of what is happening. Until its end, we hope that you will not approve Mr. Zolotov as a new editor-in-chief, ”the letter says.

According to the Rules for the provision of a license, the candidacy of the editor -in -chief must be approved by the Forbes head office.

On July 27, the Forbes editorial office demanded that Alexander Fedotov terminate the pressure on journalists, and refuse to the acting editor -in -chief Andrei Zolotov. The employees of the publication published these requirements in the Forbes telegram channel, noting that from the evening of July 26, none of them have access to the magazine website.

After this publication, the chief editor of the publication Ekaterina Eremenko suggested that the owners "and they would guess to close access to the telegram channel."

A few minutes later the post really disappeared. On July 26, the Forbes editorial office filed an application with the prosecutor’s office, after the article on the business of the Summer group disappeared from the printed version of the journal without the knowledge of the editor -in -chief (the article was supposed to be released under the heading of “Family affairs”). The owner of the magazine explained the exclusion of the article by possible court claims from the owners of the “sum”. A few hours after that, the acting editor -in -chief Nikolai Mazurin was removed from his post.
