The Ministry of Labor changed his mind to introduce criminal liability for the dismissal of people before the pension

The introduction of criminal liability for the dismissal of employees of pre -retirement age is not planned. According to Interfax, this was stated by the head of the Ministry of Labor Maxim Topilin. “No introduction is provided. You come up with what is not, ”he said.

On July 25, the press service of the Ministry of Labor reported that a draft document will be submitted for consideration of the associations of employers and trade unions with proposals for the protection of labor rights of citizens of pre-retirement age. It included some proposals of public representatives, including “strengthening responsibility, up to criminal” for employers who dismiss employees who are close to retirement.

The Ministry of Labor also proposed to conduct targeted inspections throughout the “ transition period ” of pension reform to identify violations of human labor rights in pre -retirement age.

On July 19, the State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill on raising the retirement age in Russia - up to 65 years for men and up to 63 years for women.
