This was announced on Facebook by Mikhail Khodorkovsky, who is the sponsor of the Russian Mercenaries project, within the framework of which a trip was organized.

“As for safety. It would be strange for my part to impose a solution to this problem with professional military commissars with extensive experience. They were one of the best specialists in Russia. All that they needed was discussed by them directly with the editor -in -chief, the requested resources were provided. The trip was stipulated by them with the peacekeepers of the UN, representatives of the rebels and the official authorities, ”Khodorkovsky wrote.

He also stated that he was providing and continuing assistance to the families of dead journalists. “If people want, they will tell,” Khodorkovsky added.

On Wednesday, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, called for “presenting strict demand” to those who organized a trip of the film crew to the Central African Republic, “knowing that they are in real danger.”

“Information appeared that the business trip was not properly executed, the relevant documents were not in hand, our embassy in the TsAD was not informed. If the fact of sending them to the TsALL by tourist visas is true, then it is necessary to present a strict demand for those who organized this, knowing that they expose their lives of real danger, ”Kadyrov wrote on VKontakte.

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that Dzhemal, Radchenko and Rastorguev issued tourist visas for the trip. “We can say that this trip was designed as a tourist,” she said. According to Zakharova, the Foreign Ministry still "has no idea how the journalists were there and who is responsible for their stay in the country."
