The United States can impose new sanctions against Russia

US senators submitted a bill on new sanctions against Russia in response to the Kremlin’s intervention in the American elections, the annexation of Crimea, as well as a policy in Syria, Reuters reported .

The bill was proposed by senators Lindsay Graham, Bob Menendes, Core Gardner, Ben Cardin, John McCain and Gene Shahin.

The norms developed by them provide for a ban on transactions related to the sovereign debt of the Russian Federation, sanctions for investments in energy projects supported by Russia or structures with the participation of Russian state capital, and the ban on US citizens to participate in oil projects in Russia.

The document also provides for the introduction of new sanctions against Russian officials, oligarchs and other persons who "contribute to unlawful and corrupt activities, direct and indirectly." As Graham emphasized, we are talking about the “most painful” restrictive measures for Russia.
