In August 2018, it became known that in the city of Zarinsk Altai Territory, a criminal case was initiated under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code against a previously convicted local resident Anton Angel, suspected of posting on the social network of some antisemitic images. In April 2019, the case was closed due to the partial decriminalization of the charge article.
In August 2018, it became known that in the city of Zarinsk Altai Territory, a criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting a national and hatred).
The case was started against a local resident Anton Angel, who, according to law enforcement agencies, published on the social network some antisemitic images. The defendant himself assures that these are reposts of publications of the anti-Semitic group "Zion" in the social network "VKontakte".
Details, unfortunately, are unknown.
A search was conducted in Angel's apartment in Barnaul. Four were seized phone, laptop, computer and flash drives. A similar search took place in the apartment Angel's mother.
On September 14, 2018, law enforcement officers detained Angel and tried to forcibly send him to a hospital for a psychiatric examination. Angel and his lawyer stated that the decision of the Zarinsk City Court to force him into hospital had not yet entered into force, and were able to ensure that Angel did not remain in the hospital. In October 2018, the Altai Regional Court overturned the decision on the forced examination.
In April 2019, it became known that the investigator in the case decided to terminate the criminal case due to the partial decriminalization of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code.
Angel has two convictions - one for theft (Article 158 of the Criminal Code),
the second for robbery (Article 161 of the Criminal Code).
In 2017, he was nominated by the Liberal Democratic Party as a candidate for the Zarinskoe city meeting of deputies of the Altai Territory of the seventh convocation, but dropped out after registration.
