Cases against scientists
The TRV-hobby monitors the progress of two criminal cases instituted against scientists (No. 259 , 260 ). The first of them is Olga Zelenina , head. The chemical and analytical laboratory of the Penza Research Institute of Agriculture. Olga for the seventh year is under investigation for her scientific opinion about the impossibility of complete purification of food poppy. She is accused of "participation in the criminal community" and "abuse of authority."
TsNIIMASH employee Viktor Kudryavtsev , laureate of the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation, was arrested and placed in the investigator Lefortovo at the end of July. He was charged with Gosizmen. The Moscow City Court refused the 74-year-old Kudryavtsev to change the preventive measure for house arrest. The Bryansk Regional Court obeys the case No. 2–2/2018 (No. 2–2/2017, No. 2–2/2016), one of the accused of which Zelenina Olga Nikolaevna, candidate of agricultural sciences, the head of the chemical and analytical laboratory of the Penza Research Institute of Agriculture, accused by investigators of the UFKN in Moscow in the preparation of the draft letter with scientific Review of the impossibility of complete cleaning of food poppies from weed impurities and alkaloids of opium. According to the prosecution, O. N. Zelenin "generally compiled a pseudoscientific document."
The RAS Commission to combat the pseudoscience and falsification of scientific research draws the attention of the prosecutor's office to the inadmissibility of the use of the term “pseudoscientific document” in relation to the document drawn up by the candidate of agricultural sciences Olga Nikolaevna Zelenina.
O. N. Zelenina - a highly qualified specialist in applied analytical chemistry. The justice of its conclusion about the impossibility of extracting the trace (that is, those present in a very low concentration) the number of alkaloids from the food poppy is confirmed by a number of scientific experts and is not in doubt. Corresponding expert conclusions are available in a multi -volume case, which is now being considered by the Bryansk Regional Court. The scientific aspects of “Zelenina affairs” have been widely discussed in the scientific community for six years. We share the serious concern of the Russian scientific community about the judicial persecution of O. N. Zelenina, who is actually guilty of the reasoned expression of professional opinion. The label of “pseudoscience” in relation to a document containing quite obvious considerations related to chemical analysis is categorically unacceptable. In this regard, the RAS commission to combat pseudoscience and falsification of scientific research asks the prosecutor's office to abandon the accusations against O. N. Zelenina.

Open letter to the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin
Dear Mr. President!
We turn to you as a guarantor of the constitutional rights of Russian citizens with a request to urgently take care of the fate of the Russian scientist - the leading researcher of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise of the TsNIIMASH "Roscosmos", the candidate of technical sciences Viktor Viktorovich Kudryavtsev, accused of state treason.
He was detained by the FSB of Russia on July 20, 2018 and was placed in the Lefortovo pre -trial detention center, where he is now, after the rejection of the Mosgorsud of the appeal on his arrest on August 2. The directions of work and circumstances of the arrest V.V. Kudryavtsev are known to us from the letter of his son, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Ya. V. Kudryavtsev, head of the Laboratory of the INXS RAS.
Viktor Viktorovich Kudryavtsev-an elderly person (74 years old), suffers from severe chronic diseases (suffered a heart attack, is sick with type 2 diabetes). The content in the pre -trial detention center threatens his health (it is already sharply worsening) and even life. V.V. Kudryavtsev does not want, and for health reasons and in connection with the removal of his foreign passport, he has no opportunity to hide from the investigation.
We urge you for humanitarian reasons to instruct the appropriate prosecution authorities to verify the validity of the prosecution and arrest by V.V. Kudryavtsev and use your authority to achieve him before the trial of a preventive measure that is not associated with imprisonment and ensures adequate maintenance of health.
Viktor Viktorovich Kudryavtsev is a famous specialist in the field of aeromechanics of high -speed aircraft. He was an executor of a number of international outputs on open space topics, in which TsNI-Imash officially participated with the approval of his leadership and competent authorities. In 2011–2013, 2013 He coordinated the work of TsNIIMASH employees on an international project supported by the FP7-SPACE program and the Federal Target Program “Research and Development in Priority areas for the development of the scientific and technological complex of Russia for 2007-2012”, as part of the joint fundamental research of European and Russian scientists for the development of space.
The project was completely open and aimed at ensuring the safety of reusable spacecraft when they entered the atmosphere. In addition to TsNIIMASH, the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after Prof. N.E. Zhukovsky, Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. S. A. Khristianovich SB RAS, German aerospace center and Belgian Institute of Hydrodynamics named after von Karman. The application for the project was agreed at all necessary levels. Based on the results of the project, an open report and scientific articles were published, for which appropriate permits were obtained.
