In Borisoglebsk, a pastor accused of “illegal” missionary work and acquitted was forced to resign from his job

In Borisoglebsk, Voronezh region, accused of "illegal" missionary work and then a justified Pentecostal pastor under service pressure security was forced to resign from the aircraft repair plant, where worked for almost 30 years. It requires restoration in the workplace and carrying out checks on the fact of religious discrimination.

In early September 2018, it became known that in Borisoglebsk Voronezh Region, the leadership of the Aviation Repair Plant forced to quit the pastor of the Christian center "Vozrozhdeniye" Sergey Solonko.

In May 2018, following a complaint from the FSB officer in charge of the plant, in relation to S. Solonko, a case was initiated under Art. 5.26 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (violation legislation on freedom of conscience, freedom of religion and religious associations) in connection with allegedly illegal missionary activities. However the court concluded that only members of the group, i.e. there was no violation of the law.

At the same time, a warning was issued against S. Solonko under Art. 19.7 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (failure to provide information) for the creation in Borisoglebsk religious group without notifying the Ministry of Justice. This warning has been cancelled .

Even though the prosecution of the pastor ended, the plant management insisted on the dismissal of the worker enterprise 28 years old S. Solonko at his own request.

The pastor appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office, the FSB and the Council for human rights under the President of the Russian Federation with the requirement to reinstate him at work and conducting an inspection of the activities of the plant's security service upon the fact religious discrimination.
