But Alexander Beglov remained in the shadow much longer than his predecessor: the posts of the deputy head of the presidential administration and the envoy-first in the central, and then in the North-Western Federal District, were still the height of his political career. Unlike other Putin's friends in St. Petersburg, he did not make a big business and did not try himself as the head of the state corporation.
