On December 6, 2018, it became known that in the city of Yurga, Kemerovo Region, a court found a 35-year-old local resident guilty under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (inciting national hatred) and part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code (public calls for extremism on the Internet). The court sentenced him to 1 year and 3 months of compulsory labor.
According to the case file, in April 2017, while serving a sentence for a particularly serious crime, a man posted some xenophobic materials on his VKontakte page. It is also reported that the convict did not cooperate with the investigation and did not admit guilt.
