Russian airlines may stop working if the government demands to transfer servers to Russian for booking and selling tickets and for registering passengers for flights. This is stated in a letter from the general director of the Siberia Airline (part of the S7 Group) by Vladimir Frequetov to the President of the Association of Air Transport (AEVT) to Vladimir Tasun. The document is at the disposal of " Vedomosti ".
Earlier, the Ministry of Transport prepared a draft government decree, according to which servers and databases for booking and selling domestic air transportation, as well as registration for a flight, should be transferred to Russia from January 1, 2020.
The document also assumes that only the Russian legal entity can become the provider of the reservation system.
The general director of Siberia believes that carriers will not be able to fulfill these requirements without losses.
As noted by Vedomosti, the three largest Russian airlines have foreign providers of reservation systems. Aeroflot has an American Sabre, S7 has SITA Swiss, but the group began to switch to the services of Spanish Amadeus. The Ural Airlines is Amadeus. Lawkoster "Victory" collaborates with the American Navitair.
At the same time, Yutyir and almost all other Russian airlines are working with the Russian Siren-Rodel. Azimuth works with the national reservation system (NSB), which was developed by Rostec in conjunction with the Vnukovo Airport.
The implementation of the Ministry of Transport of the Ministry of Transport threatens airlines or a complete stop of work, or a long and expensive transition to other reservation systems, the letter of Soloedkov said. According to him, Russian providers do not meet the requirements of airlines.
